Tripti Dimri, who played “Laila” in Imtiaz Ali forthcoming directed and produced by Ekta Kapoor Laila-Majnu, is from Delhi.


Tripti is Born and raised in Delhi only but she didn’t call herself a Delhiite. Basically, her roots are from Uttarakhand and she has given all commendation for getting films to her “phaadi” origins.

It has been a great challenge to recreate the simplicity of that period.


When questioned about their characters in Imtiaz Ali version’s Laila-Majnu, what flavor they added. Tripti said She playing a simple girl from Kashmir, who have never been gone out from her surroundings. Not even aware of the outside world but Laila has a curiosity to explore the other sides.

On the opposite side, Manju is a very extrovert and belongs to a wealthy family where he doesn’t need to work for money. He travels and hits the places he wants to traverse. Then, he falls for Laila and she is the only one whom he wants in his life and gets the deep passion for her.
